Recently, Snapchat has confirmed its efforts on Cameos. People find GIFs as the best way to express themselves, but they are not that personal. Besides, recording a video with your expressions does not sound much exciting. But there might be some mid-way between the two, and it seems like Snap has found it. As mentioned above, the company has accepted its testing a Cameo feature through which users can insert their faces into a collection of ready-made GIFs. The user just has to click a selfie and choose a necessary body type. What it will give out is an animation having your face. Notably, the feature will enable users to patch their faces in the GIF, along with mouth movements.
Currently, the multimedia messaging app is testing the feature, which seems restricted to some global markets, including France. As per the statement of Snapchat, Cameos are not set to perform on the stage yet. But the company has promised to introduce the feature soon. Snapchat noted it is not sure when Cameo will reach the crowd, but it has anticipated a global launch soon. Cameos could assist Snapchat in various ways. First of all, it is a replacement for Bitmoji. Secondly, the feature is for the people who think avatars are too cheesy.
Apart from this, it offers an opportunity to Snapchat to distinguish itself among social networks as well as messaging services. Even more, Cameos might be a source of proceeds if it costs for outsider clips. Above all, Cameo could assist Snapchat to make messaging a more interesting one. Still, it is difficult because that remains Snapchat’s most prominent and distinguished feature. As of now, WhatsApp and Instagram have imitated Snapchat’s Stories feature. Even more, both have achieved great success. This time, Cameo could help the social networking site to ride the fore-horse in chat. Besides, Cameo could offer a more entertaining twist for inserting faces into clips.
